Residents can recycle plastic bags and wraps at all full-service centers and the William R. Davie Staffed Center. These items should never be recycled curbside.
Things to Know About Recycling Plastic Bags and Wraps
- Grocery/store bags
- Bread and produce bags
- Ice bags
- Resealable bags
- Dry cleaning bags
- Bubble wrap and air pillows
- Plastic shipping envelopes
- Plastic product wrap (ex: plastic wrap around a case of water)
- Frozen food bags
- Candy wrappers
- Chip bags
- Net or mesh produce bags
- Pet food bags
- Hot dog or meat wrap packaging
- Six-pack rings
- Pool covers
- Vinyl shower curtains or tablecloths
- Bedding packaging
- Shiny, crinkly films such as floral wraps
Don’t see an item on the list? Follow this guidance:
If the package will stretch when you pull it, it can be included. If it tears like paper, please do not put it in the bins.
Is the package shiny or does it make a crinkly or crunchy sound? If yes, do not recycle it.
